Vday dinner at Kombi Rock!

Finally received the photos from our Valentine’s Day dinner over at Kombi Rock. This year’s Vday was slightly different from the last 2 years. This year, I was lucky enough to win a giveaway held by Nylon Singapore. The giveaway consists of a 4-course dinner over at Kombi Rock, a photo shoot by Onesweetaffair and a ride in their vintage vehicles. All of these add up to about $500 plus? It was our first time there and the both of us had a great experience.

We were told to arrive slightly earlier to prepare for the photo shoot and the both of us ended up earlier than expected but was glad that we were able to start of the shoot shortly after. It was our first time having photo shoot so we were quite excited and nervous about it. It was definitely a good experience for the both of us and everything went on quite smoothly.

Not forgetting some of the photos we have taken by ourselves! :)

That's all for now!

Staycation at Hotel Re! on 22nd! // Group Therapy

Just 2 days back, boyfriend and I went for our first ever staycation at Hotel Re! It has been planned way before our BKK trip. So the timing of the staycation would definitely be better if it’s before BKK. The staycation was good except that because we were just back from BKK the day before our staycation, made us wish that we were still there instead of Singapore.

Woke up in the morning, taking our own sweet time to have our breakfast and lunch before heading over to the hotel. The day would probably be better if it wasn’t raining. Hotel Re! is located near Outram Park MRT. There was supposed to be a shuttle service that would bring us to the hotel, however, on the day of our stay, the service was not make available. In the end we have to make our way there by foot. The distance that was stated was 600m but it actually feels damn far plus it was a rainy day. This is the one thing that I didn’t really like about the Hotel when there is no shuttle service.

Finally reached the hotel and checked into our room. We booked a deluxe room but I think we were given a premier room. One plus point for it. It’s actually quite a small hotel with the theme of pink! Upon stepping into the room, I was quite impressed by the simple yet modern design of it. Everything in the room was made complimentary. The hotel is definitely good enough, if you are looking to have a simple staycation. The price is reasonable and the staffs are quite nice. Except that there is no swimming pool in the hotel. We thought we could take a dip down the pool since we didn’t manage to do so in Bangkok.

Headed out to town to celebrate our 22nd! And finally brought the boyfriend to Sun with Moon over at Wheelock Place for dinner after mentioning it for nth time! We were there for early dinner, so we didn’t really have to queue to be seated. This is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants and I have totally forgotten about it and not visited it for more than a year. The staff was really nice to ask if I have an OCBC card when we were footing the bill, and so we were entitled to a 15% discount. Yayyy!
My Date for the night!

Headed back to the hotel because we thought since we booked the hotel, we should make full use of it! And ordered macs for supper. I truly enjoy time like this. When we can just do things at our own pace and not worrying about the time. I guess that’s what we call enjoying the moment and living in it.

Checked out of the hotel and headed out for our brunch at Group Therapy! And ohh yes, there was shuttle services when we were checking out. So glad for that if not we would have to walk under the rain again.. First time at Group Therapy and the food was good! Didn’t disappoint me and was really filling! Ordered the Poached eggs while boyfriend had Sunny-side up and a cup of Roasted Almond latte to share!

Thankful for this staycation, and the quality time spent together. It’s almost time for me to get back on track with school! And I would really like to thank my dearest boyfriend for spending the entire week with me!

Jiayou to the both of us to the year ahead!

Back to Sunny Island!

Back from Taiwan for almost 2 weeks. It feels like I’m already back for quite long. School has also started for 2 weeks and I’m still trying to adjust back to school life. Time in Taiwan was so relaxed and I dreaded coming back to Singapore. But glad that I managed to take a break before embracing the coming school term, which is now. This semester seems a little more relaxed than previous semester and hope that I can do better this semester.

After coming back, other than teaching tuition, and meeting friends. I also managed to go for café hopping last week. :) Still love having afternoon tea like how I always do in Taiwan. It feels so relaxed!  So I managed to explore Loysel’s Toy, which is located at Kampong Bugis on the day before school starts, and also Drips Bakery over at Outram last week! Forever eating and forever growing fat!

And last Tuesday was also the 15th month together with boyfriend! And I brought him to try Founder Bak Ku Teh! As it was highly raved by many people so we decided to give it a try. But then, it's not really too my liking because it was too peppery and I can't really take it. :/
Finally a proper date after so long! :)

So it’s only the second week of school and there are already so many things waiting for me to complete. Sg Studies presentation in week 5, Fluids quiz in Week 6, Heat Transfer quiz in week 7! Though school may be tough, I’m still glad to have boyfriend back with me this semester. 1 last semester together before he graduates and 3 more semesters for me!

Last week also met up with uni clique to have a farewell dinner for Jody and Weijie. Had a good chat with them. :) All the nonsense they talked about always make me laugh like mad. And I guess, this year our post exam celebration would probably have to be postponed. But still, this bunch of friends in uni made my life more interesting. :)

Awkwardly standing in the middle when i'm not the one flying.
Just another 1 week to Chinese New Year and I’m still looking for my CNY outfits. I can never get enough of new clothes and always wanting more! And boyfriend has been so nice to shop with me, and picking it out together with me! Since I was a little too slow, most of the things that I like were already out of stock. But I’m glad that I managed to find one in the end. On a side note, I still can’t feel that CNY is just next week. I guess it could probably be I’m too involved in too many things and haven’t got the time to go down to places to do all CNY shopping. Since young, I have always loved to go to the supermarket to do all the CNY shopping with grandma. But there’s definitely one thing that I like and dislike when I was young. That is to go to the market to help out my grandparents during the nighttime because it is so tiring! But sometimes, I also love to be there and stay over at the market with grandpa and watch how the business goes.

And oh ya! Since CNY is coming, so I decided to go for a haircut. Never thought of cutting it, but then it suddenly strikes me that I think that maybe I needed a new haircut! Cutting hair for me has always been a chore for me and it’s so difficult to find a cheap and good salon! One thing I hate about cutting hair is because I’m always afraid that the stylist will mess up my hair but this time round it was good and I’m quite happy with it. :)

Don’t know if I’m excited for CNY or not. Haha but anything. Since the weekend is here and I shall just enjoy a little before getting started!

Happy 1st year!

Today is a special day and it marks the first anniversary with boyfriend! Even though we are miles apart right now, and can’t celebrate this special day together. I know you will still be there for me. J

We can always make it up during December! The thought of spending this December over at Taiwan together with you just make me so excited! We can just do whatever we like, and go around exploring places together. Life is so great!

The time we had been waiting for to open the gift that we had made for each other a few months back is finally here! Though I had accidentally peeped into it the other time, I’m still very excited to open it! Nothing beats a handmade gift from boyfriend! And, thanks for being so on time to wish me and to post photo of us on instagram. Always making me smile with the things you said. Can never love you more than anything!

For this 1 year, I’m really thankful to always have you by my side through the good and the bad times! For always encouraging and supporting me with whatever things I do! And also guiding me along with all the tough decisions I had in life. For all the happy moments we spent together it will always be stored in my heart. Many more years to go together! Lalala! Can’t wait for more things to be done together! I need to create another new list of things that we have to do together for the next few months.
Can’t wait to see you soon! In less than 2 months! J Love you for who you are!

I love how we always do all the crazy things and acting silly together!

And haha, you are supposed to hold my hands for as long as you can!

Love,
Miao & Xiaobai
