Before I forget about the details for my Phuket trip, I
think I should do an update now. On day
2, Jiafeng and I went for island hopping that is highly recommended by many
people. We didn’t want to buy the package from the bus company but after much
persuasion by the person, we decided to just take on the package. The package
that she offered us was 1500 baht. I don’t exactly know the market price, but
what she told us was the price that we are offered, we would get to take a
speedboat that takes a shorter time to reach Phi Phi Island. And, the usual
ones would require a longer time and it is a private speedboat that holds
lesser people as compared to the usual ones, which accommodates about 150
people?
There will be a mini bus that will drop by our hotel to pick
us up. So the driver came by at around 730am to pick us up. Reaching the place
around 830am, and we were not allowed to leave until everyone has arrived. We
managed to set off around 9am, and boarded the speedboat to start our day tour.
We were looking forward to it so much, but eventually, it didn’t really ‘wow’
us that much. Probably the both of us aren’t really suitable for beaches. It
took us about 1 hour to arrive at our first destination. Can’t exactly remember
what’s the name of the island. Because it was the first place that we visited,
so we actually took quite a number of photos there. Didn’t really get to
explore around much as time was limited. Went to quite a few places, I think 5?
And we stopped over at an island for our supposed buffet lunch. Apparently the
food wasn’t that appetizing. There were only 4-5 dishes, just that the food was
being topped up several times. After we were done with lunch, we were given
some time to walk around to island to shop and explore a little before setting
off to the next island.
For the last destination, we were given 1.5 hours on the
beach. But because the weather was so freaking hot, most of the time boyfriend
and I were just lying under the sheltered umbrella on the beach. For the 2
chairs that we sat on, we would have to pay an amount of 150baht. There was
some kind of miscommunication and I thought the drinks that they sold were
free. In the end, we paid about S$10 for a glass of watermelon juice. :/ We had
to pay 20 baht that is approximately $1 to enter to the dirty and smelly toilet
with broken doors and no flush.
The whole journey wasn’t really that enjoyable, waking up
early and sitting on the boat more than half the time and all the bad
experiences. But still glad that, I have boyfriend around, which makes thing so
much better. J
Managed to reach back hotel around 5 plus 6 to wash up
before we head out for our dinner. By dinner, we were already starving so we
decided to head back to this place that we passed by the previous night to have
our dinner. Then again, the dinner wasn’t that fantastic too. I guess who both
had too much expectation for the food we eat. I’m usually not a fussy eater but
the food was really erm. After a long day, we decided to chill for the night,
and so we both ordered a drink and call it a day. One thing for sure that’s
cheap would be the drinks, while everything else was highly priced.
That concluded our second day in Phuket. Thanks for always being crazy with me and my perfect photographer. Teehee!
