Bangkok Day 3!
Woke up in the morning to conquer the remaining parts of Platinum
mall. Managed to buy myself a few tops after shopping for 2 days. Quite an
achievement I guess. Because our breakfast had been almost the same every
single day, we decided to just fill our stomach a little and have something
else when we are out. While walking, we stopped by a chicken rice stall to have
a cup of Ice Thai Milk Tea and a plate of chicken rice to share. This chicken
rice stall is not the same as the one famous Chicken rice stall. Saw online
that they are the competitors of the pink stall chicken rice.
After we were done, we started our challenge to shop and conquer the
remaining parts of the mall. Can’t really remember the exact details
thereafter. But I remember that we go to Siam and Central World everyday! Haha!
So around evening, we made our way down to Terminal 21 for shopping.
First time there and it is indeed a unique shopping mall filled with different
themes and their toilet are also in sync with the theme. Left after dinner and
we got our dinner settled at the food court there! The food in the food court
was freaking cheap! A 100 baht for 2 plates of rice and a cup of juice. Where
to find? But of course, we didn’t expect the food to be very nice. Headed over
to Siam via the BTS. Thought that we could go to the night market again to do
some shopping but we did not realize that night market don’t open on Monday
night. In the end, we decided to go for a massage because both our legs were
already on the verge of breaking after the days of walking. We were stuck
between Siam Relax and Chang Massage and took a risk to enter Siam Relax. Each
time we go to somewhere, we will always check for the reviews. We were glad
that the massage at Siam Relax was more than good! The therapist that served
the both of us was very nice. Anyway, the both of us opted for the Thai
massage, because we thought that we needed a full body massage so badly! Glad
that they didn’t disappoint us. 1 hour for 300 baht is considered reasonably
cheap to us.
Lastly, we concluded that Monday night in Bangkok is boring. There’s
nothing much we could do after our massage. Ended our night just like this.
Day 4
Headed back to Platinum Mall again to last minute shopping before we
leave for Singapore the next day.
Shopped for about 2 hours or less, and headed out for lunch over at
the famous Wanton Mee stall since we didn’t manage to try it the day before.
Upon reaching, there was a long queue right outside, with quite a lot of
Singaporeans in the queue. It didn’t take us long to be seated but because
there were too many customers, our order took quite some time to come. In my
opinion, the wanton mee wasn’t as fantastic as what I thought it was going to
be. The portion was so small that it can hardly fill the stomach. We also
ordered the pork leg, which tasted quite nice. Total meal was about 200-300
baht. Can’t really remember the price.
Headed to Siam right after our meal for some shopping. But because
we had walked so much, both of us were so tired and ended up eating again. This
time round trying Mr Jones’ Orphanage! They have a wide selection of cakes and
I was so tempted to eat everything but then my stomach was already too full
from all the food I had since morning. Ordered a cup of coffee and red velvet
cake for boyfriend to try, as this is his first time trying it. The reason why
we keep eating non-stop was also because that day was considered our last day
to eat the food in Bangkok. So no matter fat or not, we are just going to stuff
ourselves with all of it with no regrets! Walked all the way back to Central
World via the link way. It wasn’t as far as I thought, probably because of the
sheltered link way that makes the walking bearable under the hot weather.
Another round of shopping to ensure that we did not miss out any good deals!
Since it was our last day, we make our way to the Big C supermarket
to buy some food back for our family and friends. We were shopping so happily
that everything got a little out of hand. Everything seems so cheap that we
kept throwing into the trolley only to realize that it cost us a thousand baht
for all the things! Back to hotel to drop all our stuff and rested before
heading out for dinner. We were clueless of where to go next as it was still
quite early for dinner. In the end, we went for round 2 of massage at Number
One massage. This time round we only did the foot massage but I wasn’t very
pleased with the service provided. The lady was like touching my legs more than
really massaging it. I didn’t really feel anything from it. Anyway, it was only
200 baht for an hour, that’s 100 baht cheaper than those located at Siam. When
we were done, it was pouring outside and we were stuck there without any
umbrella. The rain came just right when we decided not to bring the umbrella
out. We waited for a while before we leave for dinner. Headed over to Central
World again for our dinner over at Ding Tai Fung. The DTF there wasn’t as good as those in
Singapore but definitely cheaper than the current price in Sg. We gobbled our
food down within 10 minutes and were still starving after that. What to do?
Have more food! Headed over to Siam night market after dinner to do last minute
shopping. Walked down the same street and got myself a new tote bag for school!
150 baht only! What a steal! Headed back to hotel to do our last minute packing
before flying back home the next day!
one of the roadside stall: Banana pancake prata!
